Dr Kiah History
The Dr Kiah character came from the imagination of 12 year old (at the time) Kiah Thompson.
In October 2018 NCACCH conducted a region-wide competition open to all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children of primary school age. The competition challenged these kids to create a character who they believed could teach other kids about how to be healthy. After over 80 entries were received, a rigorous judging panel including Traditional Owners, Child and Youth stakeholders, and NCACCH staff had unanimously picked “Dr Kiah” as the winner.
